To/From Russia, With Love

By RegoPark

It’s an eventful week in the Drudge world as the Supreme Court renders decision on issues Matt holds close to his heart - file sharing and other privacy issues. Speaking of public decisions, monitor the Drudge Report between now and next Sunday night. If Jacko is convicted, Matt has promised to eat the Thriller album on the Las Vegas strip (making that the third time this year he’s broadcast from Sin City.)

Meanwhile, DrudgeBlog is sending yours truly on assignment to St. Petersburg, Russia this approaching month to report upon the influence of Drudge and the alternative media in that hemisphere. (Translation: I’m on a writing fellowship.)

Stay tuned…

So what’s the translation of the Russian text? Inquiring minds want to know…

Pretty much the same message in English in modified, simplified, translatable form.
I actually found a great free translation site that helps me with Drudge research on international news sites. You can translate up to 500 characters at a time into five different languages. (Great if a site doesn’t have an “automatic translation” feature.) If you want to translate something into another language, you can feed it back into English and make sure it fits. Drudge’s name keeps translating back into “Dray Horse”.

That actually brings up another blog entry topic…when we search for international news coverage on U.S. concerns, we head for foreign, English-language sources. What if Drudge went a step further? What if others did?
