Goodbye Pop-up Ads
It looks like Matt Drudge has done away with pop-up ads altogether on the Drudge Report. I’ve watched for several weeks with multiple browsers and haven’t seen any. He has doubled the number of ads on his page to 4 positions. I’m sure his ad revenue will be just fine and he has happier readers now.

Hurray!
They were poorly implemented, contained trackers, flash, active-X… glad they are gone.
Side note: Sunday night, Oct. 23rd … The Radio show has a guest host and Matt dosen’t promote affiliate stations on his web site as he usually does. I breifly thought he was off air when I heard the guest host AND didn’t see the affiliate links.

As you may have caught, Matt was out last night with laryngitis. He generally adds a link to ALL the affiliates that carry the radio show before the Sunday night show. It seems like he never promotes the radio show when someone’s subbing for him…maybe he should out of courtesy, but it’s likely for the same reason he can’t do the show in the first place (fleeing a hurricane, out of the country, sick).
I didn’t notice too many updates over the weekend, so he’s probably under the weather. I say we send him a crock pot of chicken noodle soup with matzah balls. (With the DrudgeBlog and Drudge Forum URLs clearly labeled on the container, of course.)
